Home Alone No More

Well, it should be Office Alone No More. The guys are coming back from the convention in Hong Kong this afternoon, which means I'll no longer have full use of the car and driver! I hope HWH got me my bears :D I collect Hard Rock Bears! Not the beanie baby ones though.

Let me try and clear up as much work as possible before they get back. Monthly meeting tomorrow too, sigh, I'm lazy. I'd probably have to let the rest of the management know that I've tendered my resignation too. Everyone has been asking me why I did not join the Hong Kong trip. Well, I shall shed light tomorrow!

I'm tired and sleepy, let me go try and be diligent.

Pretty Nails

I've got pretty nails, well, more like I had pretty nails. The polish on the big toe on the left foot is a lil chipped :( Not very obvious though. But it's such a pretty colour, I will definitely get it done this colour again.

I bought a book yesterday to bring along for my trip. No, I can't remember the title of the book, I got it from the bargain bin. Yep, I read anything. I was almost tempted to get an biography on Robert Kennedy, but I thought again, who am I kidding, I'm not going to want to read that on a beach!

So anyway, I'm excited. Just happy to be going on my first vacation alone. Slight change in plans, I'm heading straight for Caticlan once I arrive in Kalibo. I'm only stopping by Gaisano on the way back. :D

See you there!

Boracay Here I Come!

My trip has been finalized! I've booked my ticket and accommodation, so i guess no running away. In case anyone is interested, my itinerary is as follows: -

Saturday March 17

10.35 am Depart Manila for Kalibo
11.20 am Arrive in Kalibo, leave for Gaisano Kalibo
1.00 pm Leave mall for bus station to Caticlan
2.30 pm Arrive in Caticlan, leave for Boracay
3.00 pm Should be checked in by now :D

Monday March 19

2.00 pm Leave Boracay for Caticlan and to Kalibo
4.30 pm Board flight for Manila

I'm excited. Now all I need is to get contact lens solution, a pedicure and a good book. There's another flight leaving for Kalibo at 8.30 am, wanted very much to take that flight, however the flight was 3 times more expensive than the 10.35 flight. And I was in SIW's office, he didn't seem very keen on me taking the more expensive flight. :/ O well, what's 2 hours!!!

I wonder if I can change my ticket, who knows if it's fun, I might stay on :D Let me go check!

Boracay

Hmm... I think I shall go ahead and go alone. However, the 10+ am flights are all full, both tomorrow and Friday. Saturday might be a lil too late, there might be parties on Friday nights! I hope I have a good time. I'll most prob take the 8ish am flight to Kalibo, drop by the showroom for a bit then head on to Caticlan. On the way back, I'll just fly straight from Caticlan. :D

Happy!

Me no Jolly

IBC can't come to Boracay with me, so 2nd trip that has been canceled. 1st was the one to Bohol, and now this one. Should I go on my own? I wouldn't want my P2,300 swim suit to go to waste now do I? After all, I'm sure dad wouldn't let me wear it in KK, well he won't be pleased, showing too much of myself he would say. I'm disappointed, I really am.

1 thing is that Ce and Jl will be in Boracay, maybe it'll be fun hanging out with them, but I don't really wanna impose on them either. Whatever shall I do? Plus with no one to share accommodation cost with, this trip would blow a big hole in my pocket.

I need a fag.

My immediate superior from KL called up yesterday as I was on the way to Ever Ortigas to attend a colleague's daughter's birthday. She was asking if it were possible for me to stay up till the 15th instead of the 10th, I said why not. If it makes everyone happy, what's another 5 days. So ya, tentatively I'll be working till the 15th and leaving on the 18th (MAS flies to KK every Wed and Sat only!)

So anyway was at Jollibee at Ever Ortigas to attend a little girl's birthday party. One thing I've noticed about Filipinos is how important Christmas and birthdays are too them. there's a big blow out, many local companies apparently have birthday leaves and what not. And many actually borrow money to celebrate their birthdays when they are strapped for cash! They find it hard to believe birthdays arn't a big deal to us!

Anyway, whoever's celebrating their birthday, Happy Birthday! Hope you're having a better day than I am! I'll leave you with Mr. Jollibee...

Night Out No. 2

I'm getting old. Well at least I feel old. Out 2 nights in a row, and on Sunday I crashed the whole afternoon. Wasn't even out particularly late! Friday night was out till 3am and Saturday was home at 1ish!

Saturday had lunch at Gerry's Grill over at Greenhills with HWH, wife and SIW. SIW got excited when he saw a beer tower at the neighbouring table so yes... as sister dearest, I ordered one for our table too.

After lunch and a walk to check out the phones over at Greenhills, we left for Makati where SIW did some shopping. He got this wicked pair of pony shoes! Sigh... I was so tempted to get some for myself, but no, I'm heading home soon, already have too many pairs of shoes to bring back!

After a mid afternoon snack of bacon (specially requested by SIW), margaritas, soup and beer at Outback restaurant, we had more beer at Gerry's again, this time in the Makati branch, SiW was suitably disappointed that they didn't have the beer tower but of course that didn't stop us from ordering more beer.

Ju called and said we'd meet up at M Cafe (once again) at 11pm, so we left for Greenbelt and settled to have another drink at temple.

So we sat in the smoking area upstairs, with the grey sofas, maroon cushions, grey coffee tables with dunhill ashtrays (no need to guess that this was a BAT outlet). SIW ordered more Beer and tried to convince me not to go back to work for Daddy. A bit too late! I'm not sure I can really bring myself to say no to Daddy. I know he means well, serious I do, but it's Daddy and I'm a Daddy's girl!! I'm in a dilemma really I am, I'm 25 turning 26 and I'm having the time of my life here in the Philippines. I've lived in Singapore, KL (only 8 months in Subang to be precise), Sydney, KK and I can say this is truly the only time I've been happy happy. Well not jumping up and down happy, but you know... happy. Anyway, minds made up, resignation letter has been tendered, I don't think it'll do me much good to brood over this any longer.

Anyway off to M Cafe, met Ju and wife. On, Ce and Jl came along 12 ish and were planning to go to a new club called Warehouse also in Makati area, SIW was tempted alright, but we had to go back coz he had to pack plus he had to get to Clark early. Well, I'm sure there'll be a next time!!

So HWH sent SIW to Clark yesterday morning, how sweet is he! We stopped for some food at SM Clark on the way back and I crashed the whole afternoon! I woke at 4ish and that was only bcoz I was afraid i wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

I'm should be getting my ass off this chair now, I need to go to Cubao to check out the renovation work! If anyone has been to Warehouse, let me know what it's like! Me want go!

P.S. I've started exercising! Nothing strenuous actually, jogging on the spot for 20 mins last night and 10 mins this morning. I know, I know! I'll jog more!

Anti-Climax

IBC might not be coming to Boracay with me anymore. :( Should I still go alone? I will probably will, but it'll be more fun if there were someone with me, anyone! Is anyone planning a trip to Boracay this weekend? Can I tag? I'll pay for my own expenses!!

I don't really wanna go there then have to rely on Ce and Jl to show me around, o well, we'll see how it goes. Maybe I will do the whole Kalibo-Iloilo-Bacalod trip.

Anyway, I'm disappointed :((

P.S. Was just talking to CNKS, we agreed I should stay in Metro Manila when they are in HK, so I guess no extended trip. :(((

Looooong & Mcquade

2nd Bro (aka Stud-in-Waiting / SIW) is in town. He arrived in Clark on Thursday, spent a night there with a friend from KK and came to manila yesterday.

I picked him up from Holiday Inn and proceeded to the San Mig Corp building for a 'business meeting'. After a presentation on their brands and their plans for exportation, we headed to lunch at Via Mare, Oyster Bar. This is the one right next to the entrance of Shang Plaza which I always pass by but have never tried. The foods decent and pricing is very reasonable. Might head back there again soon, didn't get a chance to check out their menu in detail.

Headed back to the office for a bit after lunch where I met C, a friend of CNKS from Kuching. C's from Kuching, has 2 houses in KK (rather 1 house and 1 apartment) and another house in Zamboanga where his wife and kids are. Well, I bet he has more in Kuching and such, maybe even in China, considering he was mentioning that he spends a lot of time there.

Headed back home for SIW to put down his stuff, have his daily jog (I really need to start exercising too!), shower and get ready for dinner. We had made plans to meet JJ and friends at Aruba over in Metrowalk.

Dinner was at fridays, a filet mignon for SIW and a mushrooms, chicken and mushrooms for me! We got to Aruba and soon JJ followed by Jl, Ce, Aa and On came along. Aa and On are malaysians too! Anyway the evening was progressing pleasantly and everyone was chatting with everyone else and all, about travelling, food, KK, KL, shopping (just us girls actually) and what not.

Harbour in June/July, 200 guests flown in, fully paid for! And yes, they are rich, probably throw money in your face rich. As I mentioned earlier, Ce owns a resort in Ce owns a resort in Boracay! How exciting, I told her about my plans to go there next week and she said she and Jl will be there then too!

Then headed to M (for Museum) Cafe in Greenbelt. It was supposed to be a happening place, but apparently not last night! Well, they said I should check it out on Sat night. It's such a yuppie place! So yuppie! Lots of ang mors, lots of pretty chicks, and just a yuppie place. I'm not sure how I'll fit in. The next place is the one I'm excited about!!!

So we walk along Greenbelt and stopped at this place called Nuvo, we almost didn't stay there because they had those rotating chivas lightboxes all around and blame it on dad and the business, but we erm... have been programmed to stay away from Chivas establishments. So anyway there was a Sala Ibiza event where there's a DJ spinning latin house and latin chillout music, with a sax, flute and percussion ensemble.

So you know who Dr. Sheperd is called McDreamy in Grey's Anatomy? Mr. Sax/Flute is my McDreamy! At first wasn't paying much attention to him in particular, was just listening to the music and the beats from the drum and all. And then just the way he was playing the sax... oooo goodness... it was so sexy! Imagine if he could do that with his fingers, what else he would be able to do with those fingers! And then when he switched to the flute... o goodness, imagine what he can do with those lips! He makes me want to pick up a musical instrument too! But I really have to think long and hard about this one, considering I haven't an ounce of musical talent at all!

Guys who can play musical instruments, specifically wind instruments are so sexy! O god! I don't know his name though, but he had a Mcquade Lanyard (? not sure if the thing used to hold the sax around the neck is called a lanyard too) around his neck, so he I shall call him McQuade!

I'm definitely going back next friday, does anyone want to come? Please.....???

Ironic

This is a bit of an irony. Why, you ask? Well, let's start with the fact that I do not have a car. So well no car thus I wouldn't be driving thus I wouldn't possibly be able to drive without headlights would I? Ah.. I'm just being silly.

Hi again everyone, this must be my nth attempt to start writing again. So hopefully nth time lucky! So what's going on right now in my life? Well, I'll be leaving the Philippines soon to go home to help Dad in the family business. What does that mean? That means giving up having my company paid for apartment, company car with driver (shared with the other expats), and of course a HUGE cut in salary. And what do I get in return? Longer working hours, home cooked meals and probably plenty of family squabbles. But yeah I guess I'm looking forward to going home.

Well at least I would have to get a car back home, then I would most definitely be driving without headlights.
